  • What is styrenated phenol used for?
  • Styrenated Phenol is a very widely used and inexpensive non-staining, non discoloring antioxidant for white / colored or transparent rubber products Styrenated Phenol also finds applications as a stabilizer for synthetic rubbers and plastics such as Polypropylene, Polyethylene, high impact polystyrene, adhesives, oils and plasticizers.
  • Does styrenated phenol affect rubber vulcanizates?
  • Styrenated Phenol disperses very easily in dry rubber compounds and does not bloom or affect the color, odor & transparency of the rubber product. It does not influence the viscosity, scorch and cure characteristics of rubber compounds nor does it have any influence on unaged mechanical properties of rubber vulcanizates.
  • What PHR is used for rubber vulcanization?
  • It is used at 1.0-3.0 phr levels as a non-staining antioxidant in rubber compounds based on NR and other synthetic rubbers. Also, it offers good oxidation, heat and ozone resistance as well as flex fatigue resistance to transparent / white / colored rubber vulcanizes and exhibits good ‘Color fastness’ characteristics. Specific gravity at 25°C.
  • What is styrenated phenol sp-120?
  • You can download a free version of Acrobat Reader by clicking on the Adobe icon. Styrenated phenol WESTCO™ SP-120 is a pale yellow to amber liquid rubber antioxidant for use in most elastomers. This styrenated phenol has FDA approval.
  • What phenols does Western Reserve Chemical offer?
  • Western Reserve Chemical offers both di- and tri- styrenated phenols. The relative amounts of each component differ depending on the use of the substance. Technical Product Sheets and SDS sheets are available for each of the chemicals listed. To access please click on the links above. All reports are in Acrobat Reader PDF format.
