It can be used alone or combination with many other common rubber accelerators. TETD functions as a primary accelerator for cure systems requiring very low or no sulfur. It is cure modifier in W/G-type neoprenes.
- Does accelerator TETD need sulfur?
- Sulfur is not required, but is often used. TETD can be blended with TMTD to reduce the tendency of the compound to bloom while maintaining cure activity. Accelerator TETD is also available as Akroform® TETD-75. This polymeric masterbatch contains 75% Accelerator TETD.
- What is TETD & how do you treat it?
- Use adequate ventilation. TETD is a thiuram, which combined with alcohol, causes severe toxic symptoms & skin flushes (antabuse effect).
