Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and
- What is Luperox® DCP?
- Luperox® DCP is a monofunctional Dicumyl peroxide used for the crosslinking of natural and synthetics rubbers and polyethylene. It is used in many applications such as building profiles, automotive rubber parts, wire and cable, technical rubber parts.
- What is akrochem DCP?
- Akrochem DCP is an organic dialkyl peroxide chemically identified as dicumyl peroxide. It is used as a cross-linking agent for many rubber elastomers and plastic materials, such as polyethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate.
- What is DCP peroxide used for?
- DC-40C ----- calcium carbonate Akrochem DCP peroxide is used as a catalyst for cross-linking many polymers. Due to DCP’s half life, this peroxide provides a good compromise between scorch safety and cure rate. In addition, this cross-linker is listed in FDA CFR 21: Title “Food and Drugs” part 177.2600, Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use.
- How many PHR of DCP should be used in a rubber compound?
- Four rubber compounds based on SBR and dicumyl peroxide were prepared in which DCP was dosed in the amount: 1, 2, 3 and 5 phr. As seen in Table 3, the scorch time slightly decreased by increasing amount of DCP from 1 to 5 phr.
- How fast does elastomer decompose dicumyl peroxide?
- As the reactions between peroxide free radicals and functional groups of elastomers proceed rather fast, the scorch time is usually very short. It becomes clearly apparent that the higher is the temperature, the faster is the decomposition of dicumyl peroxide and the faster are reactions of peroxide derived radicals with rubber chains.
- Does peroxide curing system influence cross-linking and properties of rubber compounds?
- The work was aimed at the investigation of influence of peroxide curing system on cross-linking and properties of rubber compounds based on SBR. First, the temperature of vulcanization and the amount of dicumyl peroxide on curing process and physical-mechanical properties were investigated.
