Balance: My Dilemma

Tim Noakes aka the Banting Diet (high fat, low carb), The Dash Diet, The TLC Diet, The Mayo Clinic, Weight Watchers …. These are but a few of the most recent popular diets. Just reading the names of these diets make me hungry! So what to do to stay in shape, look (and feel) sexy, be healthy without starving myself and not craving all sorts of “wrong” foods ALL the time?

From experience I know the answer …. BALANCE. Balance between eating the right stuff, exercise regularly, getting enough sleep. But what is the right stuff? And regular? And Enough? How do I create that perfect balance that leaves me with a feeling of wellbeing, a look of sexy-being, a state of not-hungry-being and the most important … a want-to-carry-on-with-this-balance-thing-being? (While I’m hungry, tired and not in the mood for the gym…)

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Balance as:
• The state of having your weight spread equally so that you do not fall
• The ability to move or remain in a position without losing control or falling
• A state in which different things occur in equal or proper amounts or have an equal or proper amount of importance.

Easier said than done when I am relating this to food and exercise. In winter my weight spread out – easily. Losing control is lurking around every corner. And equal or proper amounts are not easily found in my vocabulary. Actually, I battle to pronounce the word Balance. And this, my friends, is My Dilemma!!

Is there anyone out there feeling with me? Or maybe someone with advice?
